There is a topic I've been mentioning to our leader for quite some time now: The Ranking System. As of now, it's simply a suggestion, but I'd like to see it implemented. I'm going to explain it to you guys, and you'll tell me in the comments whether or not you want to see it implemented into our system. If we were to adopt these ranks, new members would start off as a Recruit. (I forget the entire list of ranks, but I'll post a list of every single one if the system gets approved) For the Recruits to rank up, they'll need to attend community play dates (another feature I've been suggesting us to adopt). These play dates will take place every week on a day that best suits everybody. Once a Recruit attends enough of these, and eventually achieves the rank of Sergeant, he'll be able to attend clan meetings. (clan meetings take place in the form of a Xbox LIVE Party Chat, and occur whenever our leader thinks there is a topic that needs discussed among the members) For every meeting these Sergeants attend, they will be able to talk to our leader, and ask for a promotion. Our leader has the right to approve or refuse any promotion request. If the member proves a valuable asset to the team, and proves to be worthy, he or she will most likely be promoted. Please note that every rank above Major is reserved for our founders and most important members of the group. New Recruits can choose whether or not they want to participate in this ranking system. If they choose not to however, they will not be allowed to attend clan meetings, but may freely participate in a community play date. I apologize if I wasn't explaining this clear enough, as I was in a hurry, but please leave your thoughts and questions in the comments below, or PM me.

I don't disagree with this idea of a ranking system, but there are many people who are more interested in playing the game than in advancing higher in a clan/guild's ranking system (and that does not apply just to Xbox LIVE either) and many of them could probably prove to be very valuable to Ghost Legion (valuable enough to allow to G.L. meetings despite having no offical rank). So, to work around that problem, I suggest that we have a simpler ranking system. Obviously the position of recruit, for instance, would be involved but as a position for potential G.L. members and not as an offical rank. However everything ranked above recruit would be an offical rank (unless the true nature of specific G.L. member's positions are deamed "classified"). An example of the kind of ranking system that I'm suggesting, from bottom to top, would be (and only as an example):

-recruit (not an offical rank)
-G.L. Member
-G.L. Specialist
-G.L. Knight
-Administrator/Officer
-Leader (not a offical rank that anyone can hold other than Grave)

Obviously a few more ranks in the mix wouldn't hurt much, but not so many that it becomes a problem. Whatever ranks that Ghost Legion incorperates in the future should portray each individual's capabilities and the contributions that they have made to the Legion, rather than who has the higher rank. I would like to politely respectively recommend Dude Manrod to consider this, and possibly implement it before resubmiting the list of possible ranks to Grave again. And I would like to apologise if what I've said has affended Manrod in any way.

You didn't offend at all. The reason for the entire post was to see what the community thinks. I like your ideas, and I think the community should find something we all agree on. It's not about the wants of one individual after all. Although I would seriously like to know what everybody thinks about Community Play Dates and the clan meetings and such. I think these activities will increase the interest of all our members. Keep on sending ideas in the comments everyone!

I second that vote; I just wanted the main problem that I've already covered to be addressed before preceding.

Yeah, we need to go over this and see how we can tweak it, so that everybody agrees. If you have any suggestions, PM me. I'll be thinking of solutions in my spare time, so it'll be a while before I find something that could work. Thanks for your input, guys.

I've been thinking that we should have an administration branch and a tactical branch, and I've been considering the idea of different ranking systems for both branchs. The idea behind having these branches separate is because most people in G.L. will probably be more interested in playing Halo and hanging out with their friends than in the planning that's needed to get us moving (organized). The tactical branch would involve the actual combat, while the administrative branch does all the planning for G.L. activities, strategies, official combat tactics, ect... If this idea came to life, I think that the tactical ranking system should be stricter that of the administration and should reflect on each individual's combat skills/capabilities and/or their combat specializations. While on the other hand, the administration branch is exclusive to those individuals who are actively involved with organizing and planning new steps for the entire Legion, and are awarded with a rank (separate from any other branch) based off of their contributions and involvement in that planning. Well, anyway, it's just a thought that I've had for a little while but tell me what you think about it anyway if you get the chance.

I actually really like it. We need to mention this to Grave, and see what he thinks. I also would like to know what he thinks about the meetings and play dates. Sorry it took me so long to reply, I've been quite busy lately.

DarkSolsticeX09, but I still haven't re-newed it yet. I'm hoping to get a job soon so that I can actually pay for it myself. I'll keep you updated on that though.

Yes, I have been keeping a close eye on the forum so I have been watching what you guys have been posting and such. And, Javelin, I understand that you want to find a job so that you can pay for the live your self... but, in today's economy it wont be easy. It took me 3 months to find a job out here, and it wasn't even the one I really wanted... so if I were you, I would go out and see what you can do about getting a years membership so that you don't have to worry about it running out during your search for a job and when you do get one you can start paying for live yourself.

...that's a good idea, I've actually been thinking about doing that for a while...and I just might. But first, I'm going to see if I can get the job that I'm currently appling for (which should take about a week). Otherwise I'll end up running the risk of maxing-out the money in my pocket...

It appears that Dread has done the same thing you did to one of my posts Javelin once. Also, I am going to try to get Boarderlands 2 and you should try as well Javelin... its a lot more fun than you think, its Boarderlands after all.

I know that you feel that way, but I wouldn't be able to afford the game anyway until I get a job (not unless you WANT me to get it instead of Halo 4).

Ok, just because you play a new game doesn't mean that you are going to lose all interest in Halo 4... I mean just look what Halo 4 is bringing to the table.

That's part of my point, I won't be able to afford both Halo 4 and Borderlands 2, (not for a long while at least), and I'd rather get Halo 4 (plus I've already pre-ordered it anyway).

Changing the subject, I think that I just got another idea for tactical teams (specifically for objective matches). I think that this might be a good idea since the previous strategy that I came up with is designed with team slayer and/or team deathmatches in mind, and involves a highly specialized team of individuals. But, what if we also had 3 or so more loosely organized teams for games like "Assault" or "Capture the Flag" that are a little less skilled or specialized at actually killing their opponents than the "kill-team(s)" that I've already suggested forming. The idea behind these 3 new teams would be that the number of members would be less restricted on their numbers (i.e. all the members of a single one of these 3 teams might not be able to be on one map at the same time) and would be based off of their ability to proform one of 3 roles: -team offensive/raiding, a group that pushes into enemy territory to secure an objective (i.e. "Raiders") -team defensive, thereby forbiding enemy forces to enter a stronghold (i.e. "the Forbiden") -clean-up operations, those who can cause calamity by dealing massive damage to the enemy (i.e. "the Calamity"). Tell me what you think...about the idea of teams Raider, Forbiden, and Calamity...

It is an intriguing concept, but, the only way it would work is if we found some really good players that we could consider as potential members... they need to be exceptionally well versed in multiplayer and be able to hold their own against multiple opponents, take orders well, and the most important part... they must be loyal. Find candidates like that and I wouldn't have any problem with it, in fact, we need more members that are like this anyway. So, my fellow members... it is time to start looking for more potential candidates, relaunch recruiting operations... but, don't just go around asking just anybody, we need players that fit the criteria that I have stated and even then... nobody joins until I get to meet the potentials and determine whether or not they should. Good hunting...
